By Chris Cade on Jul 22, 2010 in Random Stuff
My friend Alison sent me this message, and I’m passing it along to you in case you feel compelled to help out and/or pass it on. Please consider showing her your support in any ways that you resonate with.
Thanks!

In exactly 4 months from today, I will be running the NYC marathon for my students, with the charity Autism Speaks. This will be my 11th marathon and the first I’m running that will touch me so deeply.
As many of you know, I just completed my 4th year teaching a K-2 class for kids with autism. According to national statistics, one in every 110 children are diagnosed with autism, within that statistic 1 in 70 are boys. In the Bay Area, where I reside, that number is higher at 1 in 81 children born are diagnosed with autism.
Autism Speaks is a national organization dedicated to funding research in the field of autism and being an advocate for parents of students with autism. I would appreciate your support in this endeavor, if at all possible. Please help me support a cause that affects so many people.
I have listed the ways to help below. Also, please feel free to forward and share this with your family and friends.

Thank you!
