This next video really helped me clarify some of the reasons why I’ve been able to manifest so much of what I’ve wanted in the last few years. Sure, what I manifested didn’t always look like I expected, but it FELT right on target.

That’s because shifting energy into experience is what enables the Law of Attraction to take effect.

Many people make the mistake of focusing on either the energy or the experience, and they don’t consciously work with their energy to shift it into a positive experience. Another mistake people often make is they try to start too big without building the foundation necessary to succeed.

With that in mind, do you know what the the right -small- steps are to make the biggest overall manifesting impact?

Do you know where to start so that you can maximize that small potential inside you and manifest it into the larger reality of your life?

The thing is, the answers to those questions are PERSONAL.

It’s not like you can read them in a book or just take somebody else’s word for it. Instead, you have to learn how to answer those questions for yourself each and every time you want to manifest something new into your life.

Robert also shares that another place where a lot of people go wrong with manifesting is that they incorrectly focus on thinking if something already exists. He says there’s two ways to think about something as “already existing…” and when you get this right, you’ll attract your desires.

(get it wrong, and you’ll never get what you want)

What I found very synchronous about this video is that few of the things he says are ~exactly~ what I write about in my “Supercharge Your Affirmations” guidebook that comes with my Liberate Your Life program.

He says them a little differently, but the essence is the same.

Especially when he points out how talking about your feelings is necessary to attract your desires…

And that if you aren’t focusing on the truest of true feelings, you’ll end up going down the wrong path and may not manifest what you intended.

The other key takeaway I got from Robert’s video is around the purpose of manifesting. I’ve already done a lot of work in this area which is another reason why I’ve been able to manifest some wonderful experiences…

Yet the way Robert explained his “circle” of purpose really resonated…

It helped me think a little bit bigger about how what I want has the potential to affect many many more people than I can possibly imagine.

(And trust me, I’m going to definitely keep you in the loop about those plans as they unfold!)

Whether intentional or not, James Cameron’s film Avatar contains many spiritual analogies. Here are seven examples I observed:

1. The Na’vi race have a striking similarity to depictions of Hindu avatars like Krishna and Rama. Coincidence? Apparently not. James Cameron admitted to Entertainment Weekly that he made the Na’vis blue “because there’s a connection to the Hindu deities, which I like conceptually.”

2. The paradise world of Pandora represents the higher realms of spiritual consciousness or the “Inner Garden of Eden” that we all aspire towards.
3. Just as the humans came to Pandora for its mighty ore so we often turn to spiritual realms for superficial and material motives.
4. The way the avatar drivers would slip into those “link-up” devices, enter a trance state and lose identification with their physical bodies sure reminds me of meditation.
5. At first Jake is impressed by the superficial experiences of his avatar life as a Na’vi – just like those who start to meditate are hung up on seeing some light, hearing astral sounds or having a vision.
6. As the movie progresses Jake begins to appreciate the mystical ways of the Na’vi people – just as the meditator starts to discover the subtler joys of the “inner life.”
7. And just as Jake’s exploration of Pandora is disturbed by vicious animals, bulldozers and military conquest… so the spiritual seeker’s exploration of the inner world is often attacked by wild desires, the bulldozing effect of material consciousness and the mind’s battle against it’s own armies of restlessness.
   In effect, Avatar is an eternal story retold in futuristic trappings. Like the Bhagavad-Gita’s symbolic war of Kurukshestra Avatar depicts the battle within the spiritual aspirant to reclaim their inner kingdom of God-realization.

I feel seriously challenged about how to review this movie. Of course, whenever I notice something like that what I’m really saying is “WOW! There’s a lot here and I have no clue where to start. So I’ll start typing and see what happens…” It also means there’s enough to the movie that I don’t want to give the farm away.

In some ways Inception shares the “What is reality?” characteristics of The Matrix albeit from a different angle. It also shares similarities to Groundhog Day with regards to what it takes to live in the present moment at peace with ourselves (Inception isn’t funny though). It’s got a lot of What Dreams May Come in it in many obvious and not so obvious ways (I won’t expand so that you can explore this yourself). Yet it’s also none of these movies (even if all combined).

Inception is a movie that will challenge the masses to consider momentarily that reality might not be as it seems. For the more conscious and aware individual, Inception will take you on a journey of deep reflection and questioning more deeply what is the reality we choose to create. It will create conversations with friends and family that you will remember, and perhaps even dream about.

On the more technical side, Leo’s acting is superb and brings realism to a movie that challenges our reality. It is very violent (much like The Matrix), and fortunately it’s mostly guns and explosions so there’s no notable gore (just a little bit blood here and there). The effects were also realistic – not necessarily in terms of what we’d expect to happen in our world, but rather, very aligned with what we (or at least I) experience within the dream world.

This sense of realism within a movie that questions all of reality brings a depth that will challenge the viewer’s experience of themselves. For those more familiar with psycho-spiritual work like that of Byron Katie and A.H. Almaas, there’s a lot of subject matter that will be familiar, though perhaps disguised under the veil of mass media language and metaphor. We’re challenged to ask questions like, “What really is a ‘projection’ and how does it affect me?” and of course The Matrix question: “If you knew the Truth of your world, would you choose reality or illusion?”

There is a quiet sub-theme in this movie that timing is of utmost importance. Most people probably didn’t even pick up on this aspect of the movie, yet it’s perhaps one of the most important because it infiltrates the movie’s dynamics in so many different ways and scenes. It’s almost like we have to ask not only “What is time?” but also “What is right timing?”

If you haven’t already watched Inception, hold these questions closely while you watch. And if you have seen the movie… allow them to take you into a deeper state of reflection on the importance of time and timing in your own life. And if you really want to dig in, reflect upon what exactly is “creation.” Yeah… that’ll be a fun one to explore.

I personally wrote down several questions for further reflection (a great inner-world exploration technique I learned by watching Spiritual Cinema Circle). But those are really just for me. The real reflection question is…

This is just a quick heads up that I’m going to be featured as a guest member on this month’s Spiritual Cinema Circle volume. Basically what that means is that you’ll get to hear me chat with Lisa Garr (radio show host) and Stephen Simon (Hollywood producter and co-founder of Spiritual Cinema Circle) about our thoughts on the movies.

I thoroughly enjoyed this set of movies, and found each of them to be rich in depth far beyond the obvious. The feature film, Broken Hill, has so much depth and metaphor that you’ll have to watch it several times just to catch the wisdom it has to share with you. The other two short films are delightful as well, so it’s no mystery this volume comes with my personal recommendations (I could have talked for hours with Stephen and Lisa!).
